Glen Avon Farm

This beautiful 8th generation historic farm, situated close to KwaNojoli and nestling against the Boschberg mountains, offers you a tranquil getaway.

Accommodation is offered in Pecan Cottage, Hart Cottage and Garden View. All units are set up for self-catering.

Pecan Cottage is a cosy cottage that is set amongst large pecan trees and lush rolling pastures. It’s a spacious 3 bedroomed, six-person cottage that has a very cosy fireplace for chilly winter evenings and sheltered outside braai. It’s got a double-bedded room, and two twin rooms, with the one twin room having an ensuite bathroom.

Hart Cottage is a rustic, family-style garden cottage that sleeps 5 people. It is an original 1817 thatched wattle and daub dwelling that is set in a garden amongst oak trees and white stinkwoods, and gives a spectacular view of Avon Head across the pastures. It has an open outside braai and a coy fireplace inside too.

Garden View, is a spacious self-catering cottage that comfortably accommodates two people. There is a double bedded open-plan room with an en-suite bathroom that is fitted with a shower. The sheltered stoep is the ideal spot to braai and from which to spot the abundant bird life.

We are on solar which means no load shedding.

The three establishments are a stone’s throw from each other, and although further to drive between the two, it’s a quick 2 minute stroll through a pasture and over a quaint log bridge. Great for multi-family holidaying!

Farm stay: Glen Avon is a working farm with sheep, angora goats and cattle. You’re welcome to join in the farming activities, including the morning milking!
Birding: with over 260 species of birds, this is a birders’ paradise. Guiding can be arranged.
Hiking: there are marked routes for both the casual walker and enthusiastic hiker.
Fly fishing: the dams are stocked with trout and bass.
Mountain biking: a variety of options on the farm roads
